Due to the unexpected occurrence of the Covid – 19 pandemic, thousands of people have been left unemployed. This has led to some cab operators forming a new company by the name Coastal Cars and help themselves and others.
Coastal Cars consists of 10 chauffeurs who earlier on worked for A 1 Taxis in Barrow but were all left unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic
Brian White, who is 47 years old and has experience of 20 years in the cab industry came up with the idea and set up Coastal Cars. This is unknown to many.
Mr. White’s desire was to employ around 50 operators who had been rendered unemployed by cab firms that shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He trusted that Coastal Cars could absorb them all if possible. There is an impermanent shutdown of A1 cabs situated in Rawlinson
Mr. White expressed his interest to take up travelers from A1 which he depicted as the greatest and finest cab firm. He stated that with A1 closing down, they have 10 fellows who together contributed some money. Upon the selection of the greatest chauffeurs, offering splendid and excellent services has become our ultimatum goal in Coastal Cars.
No master is going to be allowed to take a chunk out of the earnings. All fellows ought to foot the debts. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, cab chauffeurs are amidst the bunch of independent traders who have experienced severe hard times.
Mr. White said that it has been a bad dream for all of them.
You are left wondering if things will ever return to normal. “Us guys still need to work,” he said
The rest of the operators are Colin White, Ian Woodend, Wayne Baxendale, Bret Higham, Simon Whiteside, Harry Meighan, Barrie Hetherington, Wayne Baxendale, and Stephen Armstrong.
