The Black Taxi app, Gett UK, is linking NHS workers with Black Cab operators pleased to provide NHS staff in London trips for only £10.
This offer is accessible to a huge number of NHS workers working throughout the day to cure as several individuals as much as they can in this coronavirus outbreak. Beginning today, NHS workers will have the ability to signal a black taxi via the recently unveiled Gett NHS choice in the Gett application. The staff will just require to offer their NHS picture ID to operators to be eligible for £10 trips anyplace within areas 1 to 3.
“London’s Black Cab drivers are the best in the world and it’s clear that many want to do what they can to support NHS staff members at this difficult time, while also getting a bit of cash in their pockets at a time when ride volumes have fallen. We’re very happy to provide the technology to make this happen. We will cover all the card processing fees, and the full £10 will go straight to the drivers,” says Gett UK Managing Director, Duncan Burgess.
“Black cabs have been the lifeblood of London for generations, and I know hard-working cabbies will be delighted to have the opportunity to help in a time of need. It is brilliant that firms like Gett are dedicating their resources so creatively to support NHS workers, and this is just another example of what our trade brings to this city,” states the General Secretary at Licensed Taxi Drivers Association, Steve McNamara.
Also, Black Cab operator in London, Mark Hillier stated that he thinks this is a good concept and one that most cab operators will be thrilled to support. “We all want to help. I only wish I was in a position to do it for free,” he added.
How does it work?
NHS workers may have to download the Gett application from the App Store. After that, choose the “Gett NHS” choice to signal a black taxi and fill in the drop-off and pick up areas anyplace in areas 1 to 3.
The next step is that a nearby black taxi operator may take the trip at their preference. NHS staff will just require to provide their NHS picture ID once they arrive. However, there is no assurance that the trips will all be taken, but we are aware that the Black Cab operators are ready and thrilled to assist.
After that, payment will be accepted straight through the Gett application, all £10 charge will be credited to the operators.
Gett is among the top corporate ground travel companies around North America and Europe since the unveiling in 2010. More than 17,0000 companies have since then registered with the Gett service.
