On Sunday, government officials stated that young people who receive the Covid-19 vaccine in the United Kingdom would receive food and taxi discounts.

Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo, and Pizza Pilgrims, among other ride-hailing companies, will give discounts to the younger population as an incentive to expand the immunization campaign in the 18-29 age range.
Uber, Bolt, Deliveroo, and Pizza Pilgrims are among the firms that have partnered with the UK government thus far. “Vouchers or discount codes for individuals accessing pop-up vaccination sites and booking via the NHS (National Health Service), social media competitions, and restaurant promotional offers,” the department noted.
In December 2020, those over the age of 80 were among the first in the country to receive their first vaccination. Vaccination clinics have steadily worked their way down to younger demographics since then.
In June 2021, those under the age of 30 were given their first vaccination shot. According to the government statement, around 67 percent of 18 to 29-year-olds in England have had their first vaccine.
The health ministry, which worked on setting up vaccination sites for young people in art galleries and shopping malls, said it would explain the incentives in the coming days, including free transportation to vaccination centers and reduced meal prices. Sajid David, the Secretary of State for Health, advised consumers to “take advantage of the reductions” and praised businesses for “stepping up” to help with the crisis.
In the United Kingdom, 84.7 million vaccination doses were provided, with 46.7 million persons (88.4%) receiving the first dose and 37.9 million (71.8%) receiving both doses.
On July 19, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson relaxed nearly all Covid-19 restrictions while also announcing that complete vaccination would be a requirement for entry to nightclubs by the end of September, “when all over 18s will have had the chance; of being double jabbed.”
“Despite the excitement with which millions of young people are getting their vaccinations, we need even more young adults to obtain this protection, which will help your family and friends as well as yourself. As a result, I’d want to caution everyone that vaccination is likely to become increasingly reliant on some of life’s most essential joys and possibilities,” Johnson said.
To encourage walk-ins, the government has also set up many pop-up immunization clinics around the country. It claimed that over 600,000 individuals were vaccinated over the weekend at locations such as London’s Tate Modern Gallery and Bristol’s Primark retail shop.
